Today, Friday October 5th, is our soft launch. We are calling it our beta launch. Eventually this will be my personal blog spot where I talk about what is going on, what I am thinking, and if we are doing sales and discount codes.
First, some sections of the site are still under construction, for instance, “here’s the drag” and “queerly visible.” These are both super important parts of the site that will be featuring performing artists, dancers, writers, poets, singers, drag performers, activists, and more. My mantra has been, “lets do it right, not right now,” and these areas will be going live as soon as they are closer to right, rather than right now.
There have been many challenges along the way with product design and production. For instance, we are launching with several of my original art works as well as several merchandise items I designed based on my art work and personal ethos. What you will not see yet is many of the cool prints of my art work on acrylic, aluminum, pvc, and more. These will be coming very soon. They are beautiful and just need to be photographed.
Also in phase two, which will be happening within the month, we will bring on a few of our collaborating artists with their collaborative works. We will also debut our “all over printed” and sublimation printed products, which I teased on instagram, twitter, and facebook, again, wanting to do things right, not right now, and we are close to right!
If you are a creative within the queer community and might like to share your work, and potentially be featured on our site, now is the time to reach out and tell us a little bit about yourself and what you do. If you are a charity or cause focusing on the queer community that is not already on our list of queer causes, lets us know and we will try and add you as soon as possible. contact jeff@bepartofandresponsiblefor.com
The list of causes is there for many reasons. We want to bring awareness to causes you may not have been aware of in your own back yard. We also want to provide our future collaborating artists a list of charities that they may want to bring awareness to. We are hoping our new artists will have suggestions for new charities to add to the list that they already care about and want to spotlight and contribute profits to.
We have also produced some fun videos explaining each section of our community and what the goal is. These are in final edit and will come online soon!
